Problems of Karachities

PROBLEMS OF KARACHITIES

Karachi is a city of problems. It is strange that one problem is solved another creeps in a trouble. There are few problems that are permanent. They are very acute and make the life a hell.

Shortage of water in Karachi is acute. The city has since expanded enormously but arrangements for new sources of water to meet the need of expanding Karachi have not ever been made. A few years ago, Hub river scheme was completed but it also is not able to meet the demand. They have no heart to think about the difficulties people face in Karachi. Some parts of Karachi go without water for months.

In Karachi, the supply system of electricity is too old and defective. No attempt to change it has so far been earnestly made. Frequent power failures are common. The complaints are not attended to promptly to the result that people live without fans in hot summer noons and without light in night.

Karachites also face the difficulty of going from one place to another. Buses and wagons are overloaded and passengers sit on the top even. Rickshaws and taxis are expensive due to high fare rate and defective meters. The traffic is a breathless rush with the results that fatal accidents take place daily. Education is also costly in Karachi. Government Schools are not sufficient to accommodate all the boys and girls. So people have to get their sons and daughter admitted in private schools that charge exorbitant fee and tax the parents with other charges like laboratory fee, bus fee etc.

Crimes are at the peak in Karachi. In buses and wagons pockets are usually picked. Thefts, dacoities and burglaries are common. Murders are got very common, every day from ten to twenty peoples are died or targeted. Gangs kidnap young girl and small boys. Kidnapping for ransom is also common. Gang war and bhatta mafia is new addition in crime. Every where lawlessness rule and violence prevails.

Corruption plagues Karachi. Bribery is the order of the day. One cannot get his genuine work done without bribing the office staff. Illegal gratification is a magic wand which can do anything in Karachi.

Role of Student in National Life

Role of Student in National Life
Students constitute a great force that can be well utilized for constructive purpose. Sincerity to their cause, their inexhaustible energy, their steadfastness and their unwavering determination are the qualities that render them to be the most important agents to change the destiny of our nation, to uplift the country and to led us to prosperity. But, unfortunately as it is, our selfish politician utilize them for destructive designs.

Students can play a great role in to driving away illiteracy from the country. They have ample time to go to illiterate person of their locality and instil them to read and write. They can form into coaching teams and coach illiterate persons free of fee at their homes. They have knowledge, time and enthusiasm and need only to be organized and given programmes.

Students can play a great role in rural uplift. They can be utilize to go to villages and teach the farmer new methods of cultivation, importance of sanitation, rules of hygienic living and other things. They can volunter for cleaning the villages and help the farmers by showing practically how to prepare manure from dung and refuses. In China, students are compulsarily sent out to help farmers and work with them. In Pakistan they can also be utilize to clean the streets, lanes and mohallas.

In Pakistan politics is nurtured in educational institutions. Students have a right to be acquainted with the politics of the country, no doubt, but it is unfair to use them for political ends. Instead their activities may be channelled to social uplift, betterment of the community and other useful purposes.
